Abstract:
The goals of this study are 1 To review the application and understanding of Producibility Engineering and Production Planning by the services and 2 To show the need for uniform DOD guidance on the subject based on the current politicaleconomic environment concerning DOD material acquisition. A comparative analysis of the understanding and application of the subject by each service shows inconsistencies in the application of Producibility Engineering and Production Planning. The author concludes that there is need for firm DOD guidance to avoid service fragmentation in implementing this methodology.
