This report contains a description of the effort expended to produce the ANTSQ-85XE-1 Video Technical Control Center, TD-976XE-1G Multiplexer, and TD-982XE-1G Pulse Form Restorer. This equipment is designed to provide the U.S. Army with a high-speed time division multiplex communications capability for the integration of ANTRC-138 radio terminals and ANTCC-73 telephone terminals. A modified S-280 shelter, the ANTSQ-85XE-1 contains up to 12 TD-976XE-1G multiplexers, a group patch interconnect facility, orderwire equipment, teletypewriter facility, and environmental control equipment. The TD-976XE-1G multiplexer provides time division multiplexing of up to eight asynchronous groups of 576288 kbps data channels into a 4.9152 Mbps bit stream. The TD-982XE-1G pulse form restorer is a cable repeater used to regenerate 4.9152 Mbps data in the cable line external to the ANTSQ-85XE-1G. The ANTSQ-85XE-1 Video Technical Control Center, TD-976XE-1G Multiplexer, and TD-982XE-1G Pulse Form Restorer have been subjected to operational and environmental tests specified by USAECOM. Author
