A very brief and concise approach to the theory of heterogeneous catalysis is presented. The theory, as given, is in very rough stages nevertheless, the theory has certain unique benefits. The approach given here is to include the contribution of the unfilled electron shell to the potential near the metal surface. A particular example is calculated for the various states of Pr3 in PrSb for a 100 surface. Author
