This report documents findings on the non-operating reliability of pumps. The study consists of over 1.2 billion part hours. The sources show storage failure rate for Positive Displacement Pumps, Fixed and Variable, as 380.2 FITS failures per billion hours and 475.0 FITS respectively. It also gives failure rates for Kinetic, 200.0 FITS Hydraulic, 95.3 FITS and Fuel Pumps, 123.9 FITS. Elements of pump design are reviewed. This information is part of a research program being conducted by the U. S. Army Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
