Abstract:

This report develops generalized mathematical models of production systems by means of Markov chain theory. The production models are developed describing the reliability and maintainability characteristics and production rates of a system. Several methods for reducing the number of states of certain models, and improving the accuracy of certain models are discussed. A method for modeling non-exponential PDFs of time to failure by Markov chains is also presented.
