It is the purpose of this brief overview to bring out the general features of long-wavelength propagation at VLF and LF frequencies, how nuclear environments can degrade the normal communications capability which these systems provide, the consequences of remaining uncertainties in predicting the degree of degradation expected under worst-case conditions. More detailed technical understanding of the overall problem is available in DNA literature.
