This study examines two areas of Security Assistance Logistics Support -- planning, and policy and procedures. It is concluded that, with some modifications, the means exist for adequate planning for impact of the Security Assistance Program. The required modifications include amplification of the data collected for the Military Security Assistance Projections and inclusion of the DARCOM Subordinate Commands on the distribution for the projections data. Problems related to policies and procedures are discussed and solutions provided. It is concluded that the Security Assistance Program will have favorable impact on our readiness as long as established controls are followed and the recommended solutions in the problem areas discussed are implemented. Two necessary follow on efforts are also identified. Author
