Abstract:

A metallic dental implant has been developed as a tooth substitute in the pilot human study. The implant is surgically inserted into the jaw bone and stabilized by bony ingrowth into its fiber metal meshwork. The post of the implant that extends into the oral cavity was used as a distal abutment for a fixed bridge. A natural tooth was used as the mesial abutment. Author
