Methods for determining describing functions and limit cycles of single-valued nonlinear feedback systems are presented. A harmonic balance method is developed for finding the describing functions of multiplicative nonlinearities. The determination of limit cycles is accomplished by utilizing a newly-developed analytic method. This approach, which is completely computer oriented, imposed neither order limitations on the linear part nor restrictions on the number of possible stable limit cycles.
