Abstract:

Two statistical lines of approach are developed for the problem of active acoustic target detection and discrimination in the presence of reverberation. They are a comparisons of the statistical properties of the zeros of reflected waveforms and b spectral comparisons of transmitted and reflected waveforms for various target and bottom configurations.
