Abstract:

The mixed-valence iron fluoride, Fe2F5.7H2O, has been investigated by a variety of techniques including Mossbauer and electronic spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibilities. The material is found to be a Class I mixed-valence complex, and is shown to contain discrete FeH2O6 and FeF5H2O-- ions. Author
