Abstract:

Areas of research include 1 theory of vortex motion in pure type II superconductors, 2 nonequilibrium problems associated with current flow across superconducting-normal boundaries, 3 a theoretical model for study of the study of the exciton mechanism for superconductivity consisting of a very thin metallic film on the surface of a semiconductor, 4 theory of enhanced conductivity above the Peierls transition temperature from charge density wave fluctuations in psuedo-one-dimensional conductors and 5 theory of the electronic structure and optical properties of semiconductors, with emphasis on ternary alloys of III-V compounds doped with nitrogen important for light emitting diodes and lasers.
