Abstract:
Several Nitinol sensor designs for monitoring blood temperature during storage and shipment were examined. Nitinol alloy with heat-recovery in the 6 deg C to 18 deg C range was produced and used in the study. Tension and torsion straining modes were rejected in favor of bending. A simple and effective temperature monitoring design is described.
