Abstract:
The report describes the advances made in VLFLF reception and analysis with the application of a computer-controlled narrowband receive system HP 3040A. It also describes the techniques used and the difficulties encountered during the design and fabrication of an interface to interconnect a Hewlett-Packard HP Network Analyzer to a Data General Nova 1200 Minicomputer. The HP 3040A Network Analysis System was specifically designed to operate remotely with slower, more tolerant devices than a computer. The recommended remotely controlling devices are an HP 3260A Marked Card Programmer for input and a Teletypewriter for direct output. The software driver programs to direct the NovaAnalyzer interface and the new Systems performance data are also discussed.
