Abstract:
As part of its Aircraft Separation Assurance Program, the FAA has evaluated three Airborne Collision Avoidance Systems ACAS designed and built by Honeywell, McDonnell-Douglas and RCA. The evaluation consisted of analyses, simulations and maneuver selection logics developed by the Air Transport Associations ACAS Technical Working Group as a standard for comparison.
