Abstract:

A review was conducted of available research and field test data to provide estimates of the air-to-ground detectability of a future air defense weapon system--the SHORAD system. It could be concluded from the studies that the range of detection and recognition probability of SHORAD would be quite wide as a function of the observers search mission, flight conditions, and tactical context in which the fire unit is being deployed.
