An X-ray pressure-standard suitable for use with the diamond-anvil cell, at pressures up to 15K bars, has been developed. A pressure-volume relationship was assumed for hexamethylenetetramine H.M.T., and a least squares program was used to fit the equation to experimental data obtained at 298K. Using this relation a table of interplanar spacings of the 110 planes at different pressures was constructed. The derived equation is discussed in terms of the volume compressibility, and the Gruneisen constant for H.M.T.
