Abstract:
This book was written and compiled by members of a komsomol-youth staff of scientific researchers on the drifting station Severnyy Polyus - 19. Their diaries, notes, log entires, telegrams, autobiographies, interviews with veteran Arctic explorers, photographs and reproductions of various documents are the content of this book. On the way to the North Pole the small youthful crew of the station experienced everything that could happen to man in the Arctic, including faults and cracks, disintegration of the ice and hasty moves from place to place, and encounters with bears. However, the scientific work was not interrupted for even an hour. Author
