This report briefly describes a computerized technique for transforming digital elevation data into gray-level-encoded film. This film is then used for near-real-time analog graphic nondigital processing for the display of terrain perspectives, profiles, and elevation layer tints. This report concludes that this approach offers considerable potential, at base andor field levels, for producing special map graphics, displays, and analyzing terrain conditions for line-of-sight problems or nap-of-the-earth flight plans.
