Analysis of Double Sampling Plan with Inspector Errors.

This research is undertaken as a study of double sampling plans and the performance measures of these plans. This study is an extension of a previous study done by John E. Biegel concerning single sampling plans with inspector errors. The primary purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of inspector errors upon the statistical characteristics of the double sampling plans. In performing this study, the history of statistical quality control was studied and research was done on the topic inspector errors. This served as a basis for the development of the characteristic equations for a double sampling plan with inspector errors. In concluding, a comparison of double sampling plans with and without inspector errors was done to study the effects upon the characteristics. The results of this showed that with inspector errors there is a higher probability of acceptance, a higher average outgoing quality, and a lower average total inspection in comparison to a sampling plan without inspector errors.
