The effects of group size large vs small and method of presentation lecture, structured discussion, and unstructured discussion on attitude change were assessed in a population of basic trainees, tested before and after a one-hour drug presentation. Neither group size nor method or presentation had a statistically significant effect upon attitude change. The artifact of statistical regression is dicussed as it relates to the assessment of attitude change in drug education and the problems encountered in separating regression effects from treatment effects.
