The currents on the surface of a continuous conducting sphere, caused by photoejection of electrons from half the surface, are found in the non-self-consistent, low fluence limit. Calculations describing the ringing of the structure, solving Maxwells time-dependent equations, are shown to be well approximated, in certain regions, by a quasi-static approximation.
