Abstract:
Computations of viscous incompressible flow by a finite element method are described. The method is described using the simple case of the solution of Poissons equation. Then the technical problem of automatic triangulation of a domain is discussed. Application of the finite element method to the Navier-Stokes equations is presented with a discussion of some practical aspects of the implementation of the method.
