Abstract:

AVOID is a candidate for a national standard collision avoidance system. A comprehensive flight and laboratory evaluation of the AVOID I version was conducted including the ability to communicate accurately and with sufficient distance to provide timely and correct advisories and maneuver commands in simulated high traffic density.
