Studies were conducted to define the creep behavior of yttria stabilized zirconia YSZ at temperatures to 2000 degrees C under conditions of stress, temperature, and environment that are encountered in storage heaters used in blow down wind tunnels. Compression creep tests were performed as a function of yttria content in the range 10.2 to 16.5 weight percent Y2O3, density, and grain size on specimens with various impurity concentrations and porosity distributions.
