Abstract:

This report contains the results of some preliminary work on the water wave problem. The questions of local existence in time of analytic solutions and uniqueness and continuous dependence on the initial data are treated. The object of the work is to provide the analytical foundation on which numerical solutions of the water wave problem can be constructed.
