The study of employment in the New York metropolitan area between 1962 and 1966 has three basic objectives 1 To develop a useful and, until now, unavailable source of data about job change in the area 2 to estimate the reliability of these data 3 to determine more precisely how the nature of employment in the New York area has changed in recent years, which factors are responsible for this change, and what it implies for the Citys economy. The study focuses on regional change in employment patterns in the New York metropolitan area.
