Satan II is a model for the two-sided, open play of a tactical nuclear weapons conflict on simulated battlefields. When provided by the user with descriptions of the engaging forces, rates of target acquisition, and a nuclear weapons employment doctrine, the SATAN II computer programs will automatically Establish the battle area deploy the forces determine necessary reaction for actions taken acquire targets allocate nuclear weapons to fire on those targets assess the effects of those fires move the Forward Edge of Battle Area FEBA automatically interface with ATLAS A Tactical, Logistical, and Air Simulation. The SATAN II Model is programmed in FORTRAN IV for use on the IBM 3605065 computer. The report provides a description of the Model and its operations.
