Abstract:
Audio transducers based on the piezoresistive and stressed-transistor principles have been investigated for possible use in future tactical communications systems-the goal being to develop small, light-weight, hands-free microphones that can operate satisfactorily in a high noise environment. The study has focussed on contact-type devices coupled more or less directly with the surface of the head or neck.
