Abstract:

The solubility and diffusivity of oxygen in nickel has been determined by the method of solid electrolyte coulometric titration, for the temperature range 1000 degrees C to 1250 degrees C. The solubility of oxygen in nickel does not obey the Sieverts Law relationship expected for such low concentration. Expressions for solubility and diffusivity are reported.
