Abstract:
The compression factor K, characterizing the compression of capacitor dielectric, affects the service life of power capacitors in terms of changes in mean electric field strength and actual dielectric thickness. Power capacitor service life is also affected, with a net adverse result, when there is a marked difference between the dielectric permeabilities of cellulose and the impregnant.
