Abstract:
A study of the temperature 20-80C and pressure 1-2000 atm dependence of quaternary ammonium salt-containing polymeric membranes used in ion selective electrodes was undertaken to elucidate the mechanism of charge conduction. An ionic mechanism of charge conduction in these membranes is indicated. The high conductance activation energies observed cannot be exclusively linked to electronic modes of charge conduction.
