Cross Sections for Forward-Angle Elastic Scattering of 7.55 MeV Neutrons: A Survey.

Forward-angle neutron elastic-scattering cross sections for Be, C, Al, Fe, Cu, Sn, and W at 7.55 MeV incident neutron energy are presented. The data are compared with both the ENDFB III evaluations and optical model calculations. In the latter case good agreement between experiment and calculation is obtained for Al, Fe, Cu, and Sn when the Wilmore-Hodgson parameters are used in the optical-model calculation. Reasonably good agreement is found between the data and ENDFB III, except for carbon and copper.
