Program TIMAV1 TIMe-AVeraging is a FORTRAN routine for a digital computer and may be used to time-average repetitively scanned, digitally recorded spectra. It identifies the highest peak in a designated section of the data and sums the many spectra so that the highest peak of each file is located at the same line in the summation. In this report TIMAV1 is described in detail, the procedure for its use is given, and an illustration of its use is shown for time-averaging noisy nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of a complex dye of low solubility.
