Abstract:
The objective established for the study was to identify potential fire hazards in the C-5. A potential fire hazard may be identified as any area containing both an ignition source and a combustible material. The C-5, as any aircraft, contains the combustibles such as hydraulic fluid and JP-4 and ignition sources such as electricalelectronic components and wiring hot surfaces hydraulic motors, actuators, and highspeed rotating components necessary for fire initiation, i.e., potential fire hazards.
