Abstract:

A new technique for full-order and reduced-order observer design which is based on the minimization of an integral square-error performance measure is developed for the integral of time-multiplied-square-error performance measure. The technique is extended to include the design of full-order and reduced-order combined observercontrollers. The technique is well suited to the design of higher order, multiple-input, multiple-output systems where traditional methods become difficult to apply.
