Energy spectra have been determined for a pulsed source of electrons with energies below 60 keV. Measurements of fluence transmission through 0.75-micrometer thick aluminum foils were made with a 12-element calorimeter. Each element was covered with a different number of foils to obtain a complete transmission profile from a single pulse. Spectra unfolded from the transmission profiles were compared with those obtained from diode voltage and current data recorded during the pulse. Agreement of the spectra determined by these two independent methods substantiates the diagnostic methods currently used for low-energy pulsed electron beams.
