Pagination or Media Count:
A mask has been developed which leads to very substantial oxygen saving without compromising the purity of the oxygen breathed, and without adding clumsy equipment to the subjects gear. The mask is designed so that during exhalation the CO2-contaminated oxygen coming from the alveoli is separated from the uncontaminated oxygen coming from the trachea, mouth, and mask dead space. The clean oxygen is stored and rebreathed during the next respiratory cycle.
