A general integral solution has been derived for bomber penetration survivability in an air battle where the defenders opportunities for encounters and capacities to kill bombers are both limited. This general solution provides a continuum description of outcomes between the two simple limiting cases where bomber survivability is predicted upon either the encounter opportunities or the kill capacities of the defenders. Because the general integral solution is complicated, special integral tables have been calculated and are presented. These tables have been designed to show the parametric conditions under which the simple limit case expressions are satisfactory approximations to the general solution. The general solution always indicates a higher degree of bomber survivability than either of the limiting cases.
