Two current meter data sets, including temperature records from the Cape Cod Experiment CCE in the slope water of New England, were analyzed in the internal gravity-wave range. Variations of the Brunt-Vaisala frequency could be determined from temperature spectra after the whole record was divided into pieces. Together with an estimate for the mean vertical temperature gradient the partition of kinetic and potential energy was calculated. Scaled vertical kinetic energy spectra P sub WW from three different locations in the North Atlantic were compared.
