Abstract:

One of the more significant problems in the information processing industry today is that of protecting sensitive computerized information from unauthorized access. As yet, no technique suggested or implemented appears to offer a complete solution to the problem. An attractive and cost-effective partial solution may reside in a different approach to the problem--implementation of an entrapment strategy--where the nature of the systempenetrator interaction is altered via introduction of counter-penetration elements into the system hardware and software.
