The research concerned the control of dynamic systems and was in two main areas 1 stability conditions for nonlinear feedback systems, 2 optimization of control systems with emphasis on computational questions. The principal results of the research are the following 1 a set of conditions for the stability of a multi-loop feedback system involving two time-invariant dynamic systems and two memoryless nonlinearities, 2 a mathematical theory for the numerical solution of vector two-point-boundary-value problems of the type obtained from necessary conditions for optimal controls, 3 the development of effective, user-oriented computer programs based on this theory and the results of numerical experiments, 4 a comprehensive the theory of optimal periodic control systems.
