When evaluating biochemical data as indicators of the toxicity of substances and using them for purposes of standardization, it is first of all necessary to bear in mind the biological significance of these indicators, i.e., to determine which metabolic component is disrupted in this case. It is also necessary to bear in mind the degree of manifestation of these changes. Thus, the basic mechanisms of the action of poisons are the changes in the metabolic processes which they cause they can be revealed with the aid of biochemical procedures and methods.
