Abstract:

The study examines the organization of scientific inquiry in the Soviet Union and the social role of Soviet science and men of knowledge. History and internal organization of the Academy of Sciences are discussed. The author analyzes the Academys basic task the advancement of systematic and differentiated knowledge and the systematizing of scientific theory. The planning of scientific research is a top priority in the Academys work.
