The Degradation of Nylon by Iron Rust
NAVAL AEROSPACE RECOVERY FACILITY EL CENTRO CA
Pagination or Media Count:
Nylon both fabric and cord was exposed to iron rust, Fe2O3, and FeCl3, in environments of sea water synthetic, distilled water, pH4 and pH10. The iron rust and Fe2O3 were found to be not significantly chemically degrading to the nylon. The FeCl3 was degrading as expected.
