Abstract:

Job performance aids JPAs are devices or materials that provide information to assist workers on the job. In this study, mail-out survey forms were evaluated as a method for determining whether current uses of JPAs are adequate, for identifying requirements for increased utilization of such aids, and for soliciting suggestions for JPA applications. Forms were sent to groups of machinery repairman and commissaryman personnel who differed in pay-grade level and duty assignment. The findings are discussed, and considerations for follow-up studies utilizing direct contact survey methods are presented.
