Pagination or Media Count:
The distribution of data products continued at a high level during the period of this report. During this period, a total of 150 technical inquiries were processed by the Machinability Data Center MDC. These inquiries were submitted by 133 different individuals representing 110 branches of government and industry. Notable progress was made in the development of computer programs for generating machining data through the use of numerical analysis techniques. Refinement of these procedures and techniques will enable MDC to predict practicable machining conditions based upon tool life of the cutting tool and other restraints such as force and surface integrity and eventually to build a computer-based national numerical machinability data bank.
