An investigation was conducted on taxiway two at the Albuquerque International Airport, Kirtland Air Force Base to study the influence of various amounts of water 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, and 0.30 in. on the traction characteristics of an asphalt concrete pavement. Both the Mu-Meter and the diagonally braked vehicle DBV were used in this investigation. Correlations between coefficient of friction and time after wetting parametricized with respect to water depth and correlations between stopping distance ratio SDR and time after wetting were determined.
