Nuclear Spin Lattice Relaxation in Ferromagnetic Ni3Mn.

The nuclear spin lattice relaxation times for 55Mn in the ordered ferromagnetic alloy Ni3Mn have been measured at 77K and 4.2K with external fields of up to 18 kG. The largest contribution to the relaxation appears to be due to the interaction between the nuclear spins and the conduction electrons via spin waves, the direct conduction electron relaxation and d electron orbital relaxation contributions being smaller. Transverse relaxation rates are also measured at 77K and 4.2K and are found to be due to nuclear spin-spin interactions.
