It has been shown that in addition to the low-temperature oxidation stage, a substantial role is played by the high-temperature stage, which is related to the diffusion of the aluminum through the gamma-Al2O3 and the gamma-alpha transition. Numerical calculations of the limiting ignition conditions based on obtained experimental data on oxidation are in good agreement with the experimental data on the ignition of aluminum particles.
